Hi everyone! It’s been a very long hiatus since my last blog post, but  with the holidays, & family visiting, and working I haven’t  had the time to write up any magnificent Hello Kitty treasure encounters. I did however, have a series of serendipitous happenings in daily travels around my county. When you think of Graffiti what comes to mind? Most often then not people think of graffiti like  this:

A blast of colorful spray paints in letter shapes or cartoons, sometimes you find Graffiti mimicking classic works of art. According to dictionary.com Graffiti is defined as:

“markings, as initials, slogans, ordrawings, written, spraypainted, or sketched on a sidewalk, wall of a building or public restroom, or the like: These graffiti are evidence of the neighborhood’s decline.”

Yes, we can’t deny the fact that Graffiti or Letter Art is a crime; hence, the act is called vandalism. I personally, have never condoned or prosecuted Graffiti. I have been intrigued lately with a certain letter art/Vandal. I’ve encountered letter art several times in Stamford, CT; a small metropolis city  a few miles away from NYC, and never have I been so taken aback by MOR the artist, vandal, rebel! I first came across MOR with my significant other. We were taking a stroll in the downtown area in June, when he noticed MOR:

MOR is a simple letter art word, name ,or acroym. I am convinced MOR is upset and trying to idolize Club MOR which was shut down due to having underage patrons consuming alcohol. MOR intrigues me because ever since this first accidental encounter, I have had a series of several accidental encounters with MOR all over my travels in Stamford, Greenwich, & even White Plain, NY. It seems he’s everywhere I’m going, I’ve been, &  where I am, perhaps I’ve crossed paths with MOR and didn’t even know it. Who is MOR?  What is he like? Is he a rebel? An adolescent roaming the streets during this brutal summer marking his territory? Is he misunderstood? is he new the Artist of this generation;just beginning to emerge into the world of art? So many questions & no answers.

I am not the only fan of MOR, I’ve also encountered fans replying to MOR’s legacy. Some are fans, others are posers, the most interesting of them all are inspired competition, whom have  had their letter art copyrighted. MOR also has a sense of humor, stamping his name into sentences:

The  last thumbnail is the last of any new MOR’s  I’ve seen as  I write this post. Once again I encountered MOR in a slivery shiny design as I was meeting my boyfriend for lunch. Maybe MOR is our guardian angel, I think we’ll have to find him and send him an invitation to our wedding;whenever that happens?!….which wont in the near future, after all we are in a recession right?

If anyone has any information on MOR please tell him that HKMar is a fan & would like some of the aforementioned questions answered!

Until Next time,

☮ ♥  & Hello Kitty!!
